Gum Regeneration Therapy
-
Periodontal disease can lead to tooth loss —
gum regeneration therapy offers a solution.Gum Regeneration Therapy (Emdogain)
When the gingiva (periodontal tissue) has receded or the alveolar bone has been resorbed, scaling alone has its limits. Gum regeneration therapy regenerates damaged tissue to preserve natural teeth and restore function.
Emdogain
What is Periodontal Disease?
Periodontitis — commonly known as gum disease — is one of the most prevalent conditions
that destroys the gingiva and alveolar bone.
It begins with simple gum swelling
and bleeding,
but if left untreated, the alveolar bone gradually resorbs,
ultimately leading to tooth extraction.

-
Early Gingivitis
Gum redness and swelling; bleeding during brushing
-
Moderate–Chronic Periodontitis
Tooth mobility increases; gingival recession exposes tooth roots
Tooth extraction is not always necessary.
Even when severe periodontal disease has caused gingival recession and alveolar bone resorption, teeth can often be preserved through gum regeneration therapy using Emdogain. This procedure regenerates damaged alveolar bone and surrounding periodontal tissue. By applying Emdogain — a specialized gel that stimulates periodontal tissue regeneration — the supporting structures of the tooth are rebuilt, allowing function and health to be restored without extraction.
Benefits of Bone Grafting for Alveolar Defects
-
Supports regeneration of alveolar bone damaged by chronic periodontitis
-
Restores periodontal tissue, alveolar bone, and periodontal ligament around teeth
-
National health insurance coverage available
Emdogain is eligible for national health insurance coverage!
Health insurance may apply when eligibility criteria for this specialized protein-based periodontal regeneration agent are met.
The key to periodontal tissue regeneration: What is Emdogain?
Emdogain, used in gum regeneration therapy,
is not a simple drug or filler.
It is a specialized gel modeled on the proteins used when teeth first develop.
Emdogain recreates the biological environment in which teeth and gums originally formed,
thereby facilitating the natural self-repair of damaged alveolar bone and periodontal tissue.
Benefits of Bone Grafting for Alveolar Defects
-
Acts deep within the periodontal tissues to support regeneration of the gingiva, periodontal ligament, and alveolar bone around the tooth root.
-
A clinically validated, globally recognized therapeutic agent with a well-established safety profile.
-
National health insurance coverage available, reducing the financial burden on patients.
-
As Emdogain adheres to the tooth root and induces regenerative activity over weeks to months, consistent patient compliance and diligent post-treatment care are essential.
Emdogain Clinical Evidence
Across more than 40 clinical studies involving over 1,500 intrabony defects, Emdogain has been proven effective in stimulating new periodontal attachment formation. To date, no adverse effects have been reported in professional clinical use or clinical research.

Before & After
SEOUL THE NATURE
Post-Operative Instructions
for Gum Regeneration / Bone Grafting
Cold Compress Applying a cold compress to the surgical area for the first 1–2 days after surgery helps reduce swelling and relieve discomfort.
Avoid Sauna & Exercise Please avoid saunas, baths, and strenuous physical activity immediately after surgery. Excessive increases in circulation can worsen bleeding and swelling.
Careful Brushing Be careful not to let your toothbrush directly contact the surgical site. Maintain good general oral hygiene, but protect the treated area.
No Smoking or Alcohol Smoking and alcohol are major contributors to infection and delayed healing. We strongly recommend refraining from both throughout the treatment period.
Eating & Diet Chew on the opposite side from the surgical area, and avoid hot or spicy foods. Soft, cool foods are recommended.
